    SYMBOLISM
     
    A soft and briny New England Vanitas still life packed with odd and slightly unsettling little gifts from the sea. A glass bowl full of mermaid's purses (dried skate's eggs) nod to the tension between new birth and dessication. A sun-bleached crab shell acts like the skull in any memento mori piece. On the left is a charm representing the four elements (dried basil for earth, feathers for air, shells for water, and a snuffed out candle for fire), with a skeleton key for unlocking mysteries.

    -The size listed is the printed image size. Your print includes an additional 1" white border for matting and framing.
