IN A NUTSHELL
A fine art print, made to order, of my original design, Old Burying Ground, 8x8".
5 available
SYMBOLISM
This print is based on classic funerary imagery often found on 17th-19th century New England headstones. The skulls and crossbones represent mortality, the crowned death's head represents the soul's glory in death, the winged hourglasses represent the fleeting nature of life, the soul effigies representing the soul's ascent to Heaven, and the weeping willow trees representing classical mourning imagery.
While this imagery is heavily inspired by common motifs in historical stone carvings, I've been careful not to copy any one historic design too closely and to draw my own interpretations freehand, out of respect for the original gravesites.
THE NITTY-GRITTY
-Fine giclée prints are made to order with archival inks and a beautiful, heavy, matte paper stock with a velvety watercolor texture and a crisp, bright white finish.
-The size listed above is the printed image size. Your print includes an additional 1" white, outer border for versatile matting and framing options.
-Colors may vary slightly from what you see on screen, as all screens are calibrated differently.
The colors are beautiful in person!
-Giclée prints drop-ship directly from the printer, a small family business in New York with excellent quality and customer service. Your print will be carefully packed and ship flat in eco-friendly wrapping.
-Manufactured within 4 business days. Prints usually arrive within 7 days after manufacturing, and sometimes much sooner, but the USPS shipping arrival dates are not guaranteed.
-You will receive a shipping tracking number for any prints made to order.
-Gift-wrapping not available on prints made to order.
CARE
